Abstract
OXO synthesis of organic substance by ferrate is investigated. The reaction of oxidizing benzyl alcohol to synthesize benzaldehyde by K_2FeO_4 under no solvent and no phase-transfer catalysis has been investigated. The selectivity of the benzaldehyde is 82. 3% and the conversion of the benzal alcohol is 51.0% at condition of T =18 ℃, t =4 min, the pH of solvent is 11.5 , the amounts of added K_2FeO_4 is theoretic reaction requirements. Study results indicate that K_2FeO_4 has strong oxidized activeness and high selectivity without pollution to the environment, it is a kind of green oxidant.
