Abstract
In this paper,a coupling component N,N-bis(2-cyanoethyl)-m-toluidine was synthesized by the addition reaction of m-toluidine with acrylonitrile in the presence of anhydrous AlCl3.Four bis-cyanoethyl azo compounds were synthesized by the coupling reaction of a coupling component with diazo components,which were obtained by coupling with p-nitroaniline,p-nitro-o-chloroaniline,2,4-dinitro-6-chloroaniline,and 2,4-dinitro-6-bromoaniline,respectively.The results showed that the corresponding product yield was 72%,78%,91% and 81%,respectively,with the contents of all azo compounds reaching more than 96%.With an increasing electron-withdrawing effect of substituents group in the benzene ring of diazo component,the higher the yield of the corresponding azo compounds,the longer the maximum absorption wavelength,and the lower the melting point.At the same time their structures were characterized by elementary analysis,1HNMR,IR and MS.
