Abstract
Abstract The synthesis of N , N ′-trisubstituted 1,2-diamines can be achieved by simple reduction of an aminal derived from (1 R ,2 R )-diaminocyclohexane. We comment on the scope and limitation of this reduction and discuss its application towards the synthesis of unsymmetrical N , N ′-tetrasubstituted 1,2-diamines.
