Abstract
Several isomers of 2,6-bis-(1-hydroxyalkyl) piperidine hydrochlorides, in which the alkyl group is propyl, butyl, pentyl, hexyl, and benzyl have been prepared by hydrogenating the corresponding five 2,6-diacylpyridine intermediates. 3,5-Diphenylpieridine and a by-roduct, 2,4-diphenylpentamethylenediamine dihydrochlorde, were also prepared. The disubstituted piperidines are to be tested for pharmacological activity.
