Abstract
1. Di-tert-butylhydroxylamine can be obtained in preparative yield by reduction of di-tert-butyliminoxyl with phenylhydrazine; di-tert-butylamine can be obtained in similar yield by hydrogenation of the iminoxyl in the presence of Raney nickel. 2. Di-tert-butylhydroxylamine is stable in the absence of oxygen, and is easily oxidized in air to the starting radical.
