Abstract
The synthesis of ethyl heptanoate from heptanoic acid and ethyl alcohol with nanometer H3PW12O40 / SiO2 as catalyst was studied and the results showed that nanometer H3PW12O40/ SiO2 was an ideal catalyst for the synthesis of ethyl heptanoate. The optimum technical conditions were summed up as follows: molar ratio of heptanoic acid to ethyl alcohol was 1∶1.7,the use level of catalyst was 5 %,the use level of water-carring toluene was 8 mL, the reaction time was 2 h,and the yield was about 96.8 %.
