Abstract
Glycidyl acrylate(GA) was synthesized by the method of phase transfer catalysis from epichlorohydrin(EPC) and sodium acrylate(SA) with benzyltrimethy lammonium choride(TEBA) as catalyst. The factors influencing the conversion yield were discussed in detail, including choice of catalyst, the molar-ratio of EPC to sodium acrylate, reaction time, temperature and water washing process. The optimal synthesis conditions were: m_(EPC)∶m_(SA)=5∶1,t=2?h, T=90?℃.A total GA yield of 78.2% and purity 97.0% were obtained from the entire process including SA preparation, phase transfer reaction, water washing and distillation.
