Abstract
Abstract Cis-dichloro-trans-dihydroxy-bis-isopropylamine platinum (IV) (CHIP) is a second generation Pt-containing complex which has completed initial clinical trial. Its proton nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrum demonstrated that the axial hydroxyl hydrogens are readily exchangeable. In order to develop a specific, sensitive assay for CHIP, volatile perfluorinated acyl derivatives were prepared. The structure of these thermally stable derivatives was proven by electron impact (EI) and field desorption (FD) mass spectrometry.
