Abstract
Laminar crystals of tin monoselenide were grown by the chemical vapour transport technique using ammonium chloride as a transporting agent. The crystals were found to be p-type semiconducting in nature with direct and indirect character of the optical band gap. The Hall effect measurements enabled the determination of both carrier mobility and carrier concentration.
