Abstract
A new synthesis method of indole-4-carboxaldehyde has been reported. The intermediate which 2-methyl-3-nitrobenzaldehyde was obtained from 2-methyl-3-nitrobenzoate as raw material by reduction with sodium borohydride, oxidation with pyridinium-chlorochromate. Then it is protected by ethylene glycol and after the process of condensation by DMFDMA, cyclic reaction by Raney nickel-hydrazine and acidation by diluted hydrochloric acid, indole-4-carboxaldehyde was synthesized. Their structure confirmed by 1H NMR.
