Abstract
Methyl isonicotinate was synthesized using isonicotinic acid and anhydrous methanol as raw materials in presence of solid super acid as catalyst. Following factors affecting the product yield were investigated such as catalyst variety, ratio of methanol to isonicotinic acid, dosage of catalyst, and reaction time and etc. The optimum technological conditions were obtained:n(methanol)∶n(isonicotinic acid)=8∶1, dosage of solid super acid catalyst was 2.5% of total reactant mass,and reaction time was 3h. The total yield was over 85% under these conditions, and the purity of refined methyl isonicotinate was above 99%.
