Abstract
The methyl-4-(4-phenoxy) phenoxybutyrate is synthesized from 4-phenoxyphenol and methyl-γ-chorobutyrate which is obtained by reacting γ-butyrolactone in DMF the presence of anhydrous sodium carbonate as catalyst.The effects of reaction temperature,reaction time,molar ratio of the reactants on the yield of the are studied.The reaction temperature is 95 ℃,the reaction time is 4.0 hr,and the molar ratio of 4-phenoxyphenol to methyl-γ-chorobutyrate is 1:1.15.The yield of methyl-4-(4-phenoxy) phenoxybutyrate at these conditions is up to 82%.The product is characterized by the IR spectrum,()~1H NMR spectrum and element analysis.
