Abstract
PEG 600 was used as phase- transfer catalyst to synthesize N,N- dimethyl- 3- chloropropylamine Hydrochloride from dimethyl amine and 1- bromo- 3- chloropropane. The effects of factors,such as the concentration of the catalyst of PEG 600,the mole ratio of dimethyl amine to 1- bromo- 3- chloropropane,the reaction temperature and the reaction time on the yield,were examined. The optimal reaction conditions were determined as follows: the mole ratio of dimethyl amine to 1- bromo- 3- chloropropane was 1. 2,PEG 600 catalyst was 2. 0 g,the reaction time was 4 h,the reaction temperature was 35 ~ 40 ℃,and the yield reached 73. 7%.
