Abstract
Three organic-phosphine gold(I) chlorides were synthesized from HAuCl4 as the starting chemical via a two-step process, with a yield of 95%. The reaction of HAuCl4 with dimethyl sulfide(Me2S) produced an intermediate [AuCl(Me2S)] which was then converted to the corresponding organicphosphine gold(I) chloride by mixing with triphenylphosphine(PPh3), 1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)-ferrocene(dppf) or 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane(dppe). Replacing chloride in [AuCl(PPh3)] with AgSO3CF3 gave rise to the product [(CF3SO3)][Au(PPh3)].
