Abstract
Under microwave irradiation for 5 minutes, 1-pyrenecarboxaldehyde and 2-methylbenzothiazole in 50%Na OH aqueous solution were condensed to produce 1-(pyrene-1-yl)-2-(benzothiazole-2-yl)ethylene. The structure of the product was characterised by 1H NMR, IR, MS and elemental analysis and then the UV spectra of the product were measured. Meanwhile, the thermal stability of the product was also tested and analysized through the thermogrametric curves. The results show that the melting point of the target product is higher than 200℃ and has good thermal stability. The large π-conjugation system in the pruduct molecular with the structure of both pushing electronics and pulling electronics structure can meet the requirement of nonlinear optical properties. Therefore, the target product can be used as a potential nonlinear optical material.
