Abstract
Summary1. The methyl ester of polyuridylyl-(5′→N)-phenylalanine containing an average of 13 nucleotide residues has been synthesized by the carbodiimide method.2. The hydrolysis of the methyl ester of polyuridylyl-(5′→N)-phenylalanine has been studied as functions of pH and time. In this compound, the phosphoric amide bond is hydrolyzed in an acid medium and is stable at pH<4, and the half-period of hydrolysis of the phosphoric amide bond in 0.05 N hydrochloric acid solution is 20 min.
