Abstract
A series of some 4-{[(Z)-(1,3-diphenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-yl)methylidene]amino}-5-methyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiols were synthesized by reaction of substituted 1,3-diphenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde with 4-amino-5-methyl-4H1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol in acidic medium. The synthesized compounds were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR and mass spectroscopic techniques. The products were obtained in high yield and were screened for antiinflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial activities against various pathogenic bacteria. Compound EP 8 (71.55%) and EP 10 (74.31 %) exhibited excellent anti-inflammatory activity while compound EP 5 (56.87 %) and EP 8 (52.50 %) exhibited good antioxidant activity. Molecular docking study exhibited the possible mode of action of synthesized derivatives by inhibition of DNA gyrase B.
