Abstract
Abstract The complex Sm[(C2H5O)2P(O)NHC(O)NHC(O)C6H5]3(ClO4) 3 · 3H2O was formed by the reaction of samarium perchlorate with N-(O,O-diethylphosphoryl)-N′-benzoylurea in ethylacetate and its X-ray crystal structure determined. The samarium atom is nine—coordinated by three phosphoryl oxygen atoms, three carbonyl oxygen atoms and three oxygen atoms from the water molecules, forming a distorted tricapped trigonal prism. Several important bond distances include Sm—O(1)(H2O) 2.471(6) A, Sm—O(2)(H2O) 2.448(5) A, Sm—O(3)(H2O) 2.442(5) A, Sm—O(4)(phosphoryl) 2.394(4) A, Sm—O(5) (carbonyl) 2.532(4) A, Sm—O(6)(phosphoryl) 2.398(5) A, Sm—O(7)(carbonyl) 2.543(4) A, Sm—O(8)(phosphoryl) 2.398(5) A and Sm—O(9)(carbonyl) 2.528(4) A.
