Abstract
An important intermediate for making electroluminescent materials,namely,5-bromo-1,3-Bis[(2-phenyl)-5-(4′-methoxy-phenyl)]-1,3,4-oxadiazole,was synthesized by using 5-amino-1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid and 4-methoxy benzoyl hydrazine as raw materials and undergoing a serial of reactions,such as diazotization,acylchloride,diarylhydrazide and dehydration.The yield of the dehydrated reaction was 53.2%.Its structure was characterized with IR,1 H NNR. The influences of reactive conditions on the synthesis,UV spectrum and the fluorescence properties were investigated.The result shows that the CH3Cl solution of this compound had a maximum UV absorption wavelength of 307 nm and a peak fluorescent wavelength of 376 nm.
