Abstract
Impact of constant temperatures on hexaflumuron or noviflumuron-induced mortality in Reticulitermes flavipes (Kollar) was investigated. Groups of 100 subterranean termite workers were held at 20, 25, and 30° C and fed on untreated, hexaflumuron-impregnated or noviflumuron-impregnated cellulose matrix. Survivorship and matrix consumption were assessed at 2, 4, and 6 wk. At 20 and 25° C, termite mortality was achieved more quickly when termites were fed noviflumuron-impregnated matrix. Noviflumuron impacts termite mortality more quickly than hexaflumuron at the cooler temperatures and also performs equal to or better than hexaflumuron at warmer temperatures.
