Abstract
The molecular structures of 1-(3,4-dimethylphenyl)-2-ethyl-3-hydroxypyridin-4-one, C 15 H 17 NO 2 , (1), 2-ethyl3-hydroxy-1-(4-methylphenyl)pyridin-4-one, C l4 H 15 -NO 2 , (2), and 2-ethyl-3-hydroxy-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-pyridin-4-one, C 14 H 15 NO 3 , (3), have been determined. The compounds all exhibit mutually hydrogen-bonded dimeric pairs. In the case of (1), the molecules of the dimer are symmetry related, while in (2) and (3) two independent molecules of the asymmetric unit are linked.
