Abstract
The aims of this research were to know the ability, the effective concentration and the value of LC50 for 24 hours treatment of mimba’s leaf extract ( Azadirachta indica A. Juss.) to young murbei snail ( Pomacea canaliculata ). The outline of this research was that mimba’s leaf contains active compounds, i.e azadirachtin, meliantriol, salanin, nimbin and nimbidin which were toxically to young murbei snail therefore it could be use as botanical molucicidal. Mimba’s leaf blended and diluted in aquadest and filtered until suitable concentration treatment is achieved i.e 0% (w/v), 17,5%, 20%, 22,5%, 25%, and 27,5%, then each of these concentration was put onto medium culture which contained with young murbei snail and examined carefully for 24 hours. The parameter that measured was mortality of young murbei snail after 24 hours treatment. The conclucions of this research were mimba’s leaf extract was toxic to young murbei snail with its degree of mortalities 98,35% on 27,5% concentration and its mortality increased along with the increased of mimba’s leaf extract concentration and the value of LC50-24 hours mimba’s leaf extract was 25, 64873%. Key words: toxicity, Azadirachta indica, Pomacea canaliculata, lethal concentration
