Abstract
A new drug has recently been introduced into this country for use in states characterized by emotional and physical tension. This drug, benactyzine hydrochloride (" suavitil "), is the hydrochloride of 2-diethylaminoethyl benzilate. It is a member of the group of anticholin ergic substances, and experimental work in Denmark suggests that it produces a state of emotional and physical relaxation without drowsiness. For convenience its name in this paper is shortened to benactyzine.
