Abstract
Two new tri-p-tolylphosphine-cyclopalladated ferrocenylpyrimidine complexes 1 and 2 have been prepared in good yields by reaction of the corresponding chloride-bridged palladacyclic dimers 1a and 2a with tri-p-tolylphosphine. Complexes 1 and 2 were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR, and ESI–MS. Additionally, their crystal structures have been determined by X-ray diffraction, and intermolecular C–H···Cl hydrogen bonds were found in their crystals. Complex 1 was found to be a palladacycle cocrystallization adduct with {PdCl2[P(C6H4-p-Me)3]2}. These complexes were found to be efficient catalysts for the Suzuki reaction.
