Abstract
The ultraviolet spectrum of oxalyl chloride in the liquid and vapor phases has been investigated in the region 380–280 mμ. The spectrum of the vapor shows considerable structure and progressions of 70, 390, 940, 1380, and 1420 cm−1 are observed. The liquid spectrum in this region shows several maxima having small extinction coefficients. Beyond 280 mμ the extinction coefficient increases rapidly.
