Abstract
Tetrahydrocortisol, 3α-allotetrahydrocortisol and tetrahydrocortisono are regularly occurring metabolites in the urine of young and elderly men and women. The rate of excretion of these steroids, expressed as a function of creatinine excretion, is not altered by age or sex. The average proportions of each of those metabolites to their total excretion is approximately 30 per cent for tetrahydrocortisol, 20 per cent for 3α-allotetrahydrocortisol and 50 per cent for totraliydrocortisono.
