The electrochemical behavior of the resulting 2-methoxy-4-nitrophenyl functionalizedcarbonpowderwascharacterizedbyimmobilizingitontobasalplanepyrolyticgraphite(bppg)electrodeandstudyingitsvoltammetricbehavior.ThesurfacemorphologyofderivatizedcarbonpowderhasbeenexaminedbySEMstudieswhichrevealedthatthesizeofthefunctionalizedcarbonparticlesarelargerthanbarecarbonparticlesTheeffectofpHonpeakpotentials,scanrateandstabilityofthefunctionalizedcarbonparticleshasrevealedthattheyaresurfaceboundspecies.Keywords:Derivatization,Functionalizedcarbon,Immobilization,BPPG,MNPC,CyclicVoltammetryDOI:10.1002/elan.200603658
