Abstract
A common laboratory color (ninhydrin) reaction to quantify the amount of amino acids in solution can be used to calibrate research microsprayers to deposit a desired quantity of active ingredient onto a surface. Calibration can be achieved without visible residue on equipment, operators, or targets. A modification of the technique can be used to measure canopy penetration.
