To address these challenges, a study proposed the development of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based system integrated with face recognition technology. This system aims to automate the attendance checking process and provide real-time progress tracking and report generation. The use of Agile: Scrum methodology facilitated the development process, ensuring that the system met the needs of stakeholders through continuous feedback and iterative improvements.
The implementation of this system showed significant improvements in the accuracy and reliability of attendance records, effectively eliminating fraud and tampering. The real-time capabilities of the system also allowed for up-to-date monitoring of trainees' progress, providing valuable insights for OJT coordinators.
Augmented Reality (AR) for Enhanced OJT
Integrating AR with Object Detection and Causality Mining
Another innovative approach to improving OJT involves the use of Augmented Reality (AR) combined with object detection and causality mining. This methodology was specifically applied in the context of hotel management training. By collecting and analyzing articles on hotel management, the system extracted causal relationships and stored them in a rule base. These rules were then matched with detected objects and displayed to trainees through AR devices.
Benefits of AR-OJT Systems
The AR-OJT system immerses trainees in a realistic training environment, enhancing their learning experience. The study demonstrated that trainees using the AR-OJT system showed better performance in terms of learning motivation and self-regulated learning compared to those in traditional OJT programs. Although there was no significant difference in overall learning performance, the AR-OJT system proved to be a viable alternative to traditional methods, offering a more engaging and cost-effective training solution.
Conclusion
The integration of advanced technologies such as IoT, face recognition, and AR into OJT information management systems offers significant improvements in attendance tracking, progress monitoring, and trainee engagement. These innovations address the limitations of traditional OJT methods, providing more accurate, reliable, and immersive training experiences. As these technologies continue to evolve, they hold the potential to further enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of OJT programs across various industries.
